OUR STORY
Who We Are and What We Do
We are a student led Community Service Organization from the University of California of Riverside that strives to help prevent and raise awareness on cardiovascular illnesses. We provide free of service CPR Classes from the American Heart Association along with running our Save a Heart Initiative Campaign. We also provide various resources to Pre-Med and Pre-Health such as volunteer opportunities and guest speakers, to help prepare them into their future career in healthcare.
WHAT WE HAVE TO OFFER
This is what Healthy Hearts is about!
E.R.A.S.E
The E.R.A.S.E Program (Emergency Response to Austere and Severe Environments) is a 4-year program designed to provide resources and guide students through various certifications and courses, in hopes of not just strengthening their skills for a profession in the Pre-Health or Pre-Med field, but to be helpful community members overall. Members of E.R.A.S.E. earn certifications in CPR and EMT, as well as actively participate in Healthy Hearts volunteer opportunities such as AMR events and Probe Scholars.

AMR
We partner with our local AMR (American Medical Response) to educate our community about the importance of CPR. Our members have the opportunity to go out to local schools and community events to teach Hands-Only CPR.

PROBE HEALTH SCHOLARS
In partnership with the UCR School of Medicine, students have the opportunity to work with medical students by serving as ultrasound subjects. Students not only help the medical students perfect their patient care, but as well as become more knowledgeable in how ultrasounds work.

CPR CLASSES
Through our partnership with the UCR School of Medicine, we are able to provide free AHA BLS CPR certification for UCR students who become Active Members. Classes are offered multiple times during each quarter, and are taught by our Board members who are certified CPR Instructors!

MAP
Healthy Hearts Mentor Alliances Program, or MAP for short, is a 7- week mentorship avaliable to HH Active Members. Mentees can choose a mentor from a variety of medical/health- related fields, working or studying across the world. Participants of MAP have accewss to exlcusive workshops and 1-on-1 and group meetings!. Applications for new mentees open at the beginning of every quarter.
